The Food

In designing the menu at Yum Yum Dining Clinton and Hayley have given a nod of acknowledgment to those dishes guests have loved in the past while adding new dishes that reflect their journey, and the path ahead.

The “past” are those dishes that were so well loved the couple new they couldn’t remove them. Nor did they want to! Yum Yum Dining’s Tempura Seasonal Vegetables have always been crowd pleasers, as have the deliciously popular Potstickers and handmade Three Cheese Gnocchi.

The “present” are those dishes that Clinton loves to cook for people, and they reflect his career and influences to date. Predictably, given his love of Southern Italian cuisine, you will find an authentic Linguine Puttanesca on the menu, along with a Five Mushroom Risotto that features succulent oyster, cloud ear, shitake, Portobello and button mushrooms. Chilli mussels in a Neapolitan sauce rounds out the Italian-esque offerings, with a Ceviche of the freshest fish and a baked brie with garlic, thyme and figs acknowledging Clinton’s foundation in French cuisine. Asian influences feature by way of the Spiced Soft Shell Crab and the Fish of the Day, fresh fish grilled with coriander, ginger and sweet lime.

“Present” also includes a favourite of Clinton’s that has proved extremely popular – Seared Canadian Scallops dusted with curry powder, served on a purée of sweet potato and topped with a wonderful syrup of brown sugar and black pepper.

The “future” represents those meals Clinton feels should be on this menu, something a little different for Yum Yum Dining patrons. The hearty Grain Fed 400g Sirloin is topped with a jus and divine Café de Paris butter, the Confit Duck comes with a mandarin glaze, duck fat potato medallions and braised red cabbage, and Western Australian Scampi is an imaginative serving of flambéd scampi with a sweet Pernod cream, served with asparagus and samphire.

All dishes can be ordered as a small or large serving and there is a range of sides, including a delicious Rocket, Fetta and Rockmelon Salad. A Peppered Beef Carpaccio also features, only available as a starter, and you can order chewy La Tartine Sourdough with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.

The meal presentation is exemplary but most importantly, everything tastes sensational.
